Rodent Diet – Compression Pellet
The traditional compression pellet is used widely within biomedical research. The pellets manufactured using a simple method of pushing the mixed diet through a cylindrical die which is then cut to the specified length. Minimum temperatures reached are 80°C.
Compression pellets take up less space in storage and in the hopper (therefore need less topping up) due to having a higher bulk density than expanded pellet . This can be an advantage where storage space is an issue.
